Our Painting items carefully hand painted in oil. We chose our artists who are the graduates of the renowned art schools around the world. Those artists are then asked to copy the originals by hand. Our oil paintings painstakingly hand made replicating the originals of the masters to the smallest detail. We encourage our artists to adhere to the original painting.

Under "All Products" listing you can click on the subject item of interest to you. If it is landscape you are after you can click on the "landscape" paintings on the left hand side list and select the paintings from the large list that is appealing to you. If you like a particular oil painting and want to see more paintings of that artist you can click on the name of the artist in the small window and it will give you a possible biography of the artist and other works of that artist.

If you know the name of the artist you would like to get a reproduction oil painting under "All Products" you can click on "by artist" listing and find the artist you are looking for from A-Z list.

When you click on "more detail" or on smaller picture it will open a new window with a detailed picture of the item and different sizes you can choose to order. You can also enter your own dimensions you require and computer will calculate a price for you. In that page for more than a thousand paintings you can also find a detailed description of the painting. In time we strive to inrease the detailed description of the paintings and biographies of the artists numbers.

We endeavored to include thousands of most notable painters of European and American art who lived between 1250 and 1950. This was rather subjective and daunting task to do. So if you can not find an artist this time please let us know we will do our best to include more popular artists in our database. This is a project with ever increasing content in time.

The Hidden Meaning Behind the Paintings

In the picture above,The Concert, two young men and a young woman are playing music together before a table laden with fruit, wine, and baked goods. While the cavalier in the foreground plays the cello, the youth on the right side of the picture is singing together with the young woman from a single songbook : She places her hand on his neck with a careful gesture.

At first glance, it would seem that this painting by the Ugrecht painter Gerrit van Honthorst (1590-1656) depicts cheerful comradeship. But the first impression is deceptive. A closer observation on the pictures below reveals that the ugly old woman, who is giving the cellist a conspiratorial sign with the index finger of her raised right hand, is at the same moment reaching for the money pocket on the belt of one of the distracted singers. What at first seems like harmless pleasure is thus exposed as a con game: The old woman, the musician and the flirtatious young Woman are accomplices, preying upon their unsuspecting young victim.

As a message for the observer, Gerrit van Honthorst’s The Concert contains a moralistic warning against letting oneself fall into dubious company. One should let reason and care prevail rather than placing oneself at the mercy of the dangers emanating from sensual pleasure.
